 CPT codes gives us the clean description about what all was done to the patient during the time of consultation, laboratory, diagnostics, radiology and surgical procedures.  where as, ICD codes diagnosis and identifies the disease or that patients medical condition. when comparing both, CPT codes are more complex than ICD codes. 

CPT codes are numerical codes used to identify medical services and procedures by healthcare professionals. they are billed codes, when coming to ICD, they are diagnosis code. CPT codes are used universally to file claims for physician payment. those who a person or an organization wish to this cpt content need a license.
